Corpus Christi Newborn Photographer
Timeless fine art portraits of your baby's first days.
Your Baby's First Portraits
Welcoming a new baby is one of the most fleeting seasons of your life. At Wet Silver Photography, I help Corpus Christi families preserve these first days through timeless, heirloom quality newborn portraiture. Every curled finger, every sleepy sigh, every impossibly small detail, gently captured and crafted into fine art you will cherish for generations.
For nearly two decades, Lori Stead has been photographing newborns across the Coastal Bend. That experience matters. A calm, patient hand makes all the difference with a new baby, and parents can relax knowing they are in the hands of a photographer who has done this countless times before. Families come to Wet Silver because they want more than a few cell phone snapshots. They want art that tells the story of their growing family.
The Newborn Experience
Newborn sessions at the Wet Silver studio are unhurried and tailored to your baby. A typical session runs two to four hours, which allows plenty of time for feeding, soothing, diaper changes, and the occasional outfit swap. You will never feel rushed. The studio is kept warm and quiet so your baby can settle easily into those dreamy, sleepy poses that make newborn portraiture so magical.
Siblings and parents are always welcome, and I encourage you to include them. Some of the most meaningful portraits from a newborn session are the simple ones, a baby nestled in a parent's hands, a big sister holding her new brother for the very first time, a father's quiet gaze at the baby asleep on his chest. These are the images families treasure most a decade down the road.
When to Book
The sooner, the better. Newborn photography is seasonal in the sense that babies arrive on their own schedule, and the ideal portrait window is narrow. Most families book during pregnancy based on the due date, then finalize the exact date once baby arrives safely.
The sweet spot for posed newborn portraits is between five and ten days old. During this window, babies are typically sleepier, easier to pose, and free from baby acne or the fussiness that can set in later. If you are already in your second or third trimester, reach out now to secure your spot on the calendar. Calendar spots fill quickly, particularly during peak months.
Serving the Coastal Bend
The Wet Silver studio is located on South Staples in the Southside of Corpus Christi, at Timbergate and Staples. Families travel from across Corpus Christi, Calallen, Flour Bluff, Portland, Ingleside, Aransas Pass, Rockport, Kingsville, and surrounding Coastal Bend communities to create portraits here. Wherever you call home in South Texas, you are welcome.
Your Investment
The newborn session fee is $200 and secures your date, talent, retouching, and a private online gallery. It does not include prints, products, or digital files, which are purchased separately after you have seen your images. Prints start at $30 with no minimum. Print collections start at $450. Every image purchased in print includes a complimentary web sized file for online sharing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Book during pregnancy based on your due date. Once baby arrives, we will finalize the session for sometime between five and ten days old. The earlier you reach out, the better your chances of securing a preferred week on the calendar.
That is completely normal, and flexibility is built into the schedule for exactly that reason. Once your baby arrives, a quick call or text is all it takes to lock in the final date.
Plan for two to four hours. The longer window allows for feeding, diaper changes, and soothing between poses, which keeps the session calm and stress free for both baby and parents.
Absolutely. Family and sibling portraits are a beautiful part of every newborn session, and no session feels complete without them.
Just your baby. The studio is stocked with wraps, bonnets, headbands, baskets, and backdrops in a variety of tones and textures. If there is a family heirloom or a specific item you would like to include, bring it along and we will work it in.
Yes. Babies older than two weeks simply tend to wake up more and are less willing to stay in curled, sleepy poses. Beautiful portraits are still absolutely possible, the style just leans more toward alert, awake baby imagery.
The studio is at 6702 S Staples Street in Corpus Christi, on the Southside at Timbergate and Staples. It is an easy drive for families across the Coastal Bend.
