Mike from Redfin recently reached out to me, asking for input on helping people curate a gallery wall in their home.
Mike: We are excited to let you know that Wet Silver Photography has been chosen to be featured in Redfin's next blog article, "How to Curate a Photo Gallery Wall in Your Home”". We've selected notable experts in the field to provide homeowners with some creative ways to curate a beautiful photo gallery in their homes. All we need from you is 2-4 sentences with some creative ways homeowners can create a completely original photo gallery they will cherish and be able to add to as life happens. These tips can relate to theme, color palettes/backgrounds, lighting, framing, etc. Whatever you decide to contribute, just have fun with it! Me: That seems like an easy ask... here you go: "How to Curate a Photo Gallery Wall in Your Home” When adding a photo gallery to your home, the BEST plan is to do your planning before your portrait session. Wear colors that compliment the color scheme of your home. Opt for locations that reflect the style of your home, or choose a studio session. For example, if your decor is coastal, do a portrait session at the beach. If your home is modern, do a session downtown. If you already have the portraits and they don't fit the pre-planning tips, or you have an eclectic mix of portraits you want to display, then opt for black and white images. Together, they will create a cohesive collection. And opt for frames that coordinate or, even better, choose frameless wall art options, such as metal prints or acrylic prints. Mike got photographers from across the nation to contribute to this article and I was fascinated to read the different suggestions. I think you, too, will enjoy it! You can read the Redfin article HERE. Let me know what you think! Are you doing something cool and different with portraits in YOUR home? Share that, too! |
